Brief Introduction

Dr. Ritu Gupta is an academician with over 21 years of experience in teaching, research, and extension activities in the field of  Family Resource Management now Resource Management and Consumer Science. She began her professional journey as an Assistant Professor at KVK Faridkot in 2003, later joining the Directorate of Extension Education in 2008 at PAU Campus. In 2014, she was transferred to the Department of Family Resource Management, where she also served as Scientist under the All India Coordinated Research Project – FRM component from 2016 to 2020 and was promoted to Senior Scientist in February 2018. She joined as Associate Professor in the department in year 2021. She has been involved in teaching undergraduate, postgraduate and certificate course students and has guided several postgraduate students. She has about 50 research publications in reputed journals, 9 book chapters, various extension publications and technical bulletins to her credit. She has actively participated in national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops, and has served as a paper setter and external examiner for various State Agricultural Universities and other institutions. She was awarded with “Best Product Design” award for her Ph.D. research work in an International Conference on Humanizing Work and Work Environment held at GBPUA&T, Pantnagar in 2012 and a Best Paper Presentation Award at a national workshop. She has developed three gender-friendly technologies to reduce the drudgery of women in agriculture and allied sectors under All India Coordinated Research Project and has been Co-Principal Investigator in three training projects under Directorate of Extension Education. She was also a member of the National Core Group Committee constituted by ICAR for framing course curricula under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. She held the additional charge of Assistant Warden, girls hostel from May 2014 to June 2017. She is a member of various professional societies. Since May 2022, she is serving as Secretary, Board of Studies, College of Community Science.
