Dr. Shivani Rana joined as Assistant Professor (Home Science) at KVK, Faridkot in the year 2013. She served at the same post at KVK, Samrala from 2016 – 2020 before joining the Department of Resource Management and Consumer Science as a Scientist under All India Co-ordinated Research Project- Women In Agriculture. Dr.Rana was the Nodal officer of the project Smart Village Programme, NARI Project and Co-PI of the Crop Residue Management, at KVK, Samrala (2018-2020). She worked as Principal Investigator of RKVY -SCSP Project, Govt. of Punjab (2021-2024). Under AICRP-WIA, two Technology Resource Centres and One Custom Hiring Centre are established in adopted villages to disseminate drudgery reducing technologies. Dr. Rana has made contributions in field of extension through 100 extension lectures, 5 radio talks, and 16 pamphlets. She has organized 90 short-duration trainings, 48 vocational, 14 in-service, and 8 sponsored trainings. She has awarded Second Best Paper for the research paper published in Indian Journal of Dairy Science from Indian Dairy Association, New Delhi in 2015. She got best Women Assistant Professor Award in recognition of outstanding contributions in the field of Agricultural Sciences in India by PEARL foundation. Best Oral presentation Award (2025) in ICSSR sponsored National Seminar organized by Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Apart from academic contributions, she has been advisor of Community Science Association, College of Community Science. She also acted as a judge for various Fine Arts competitions in various universities and institutions of Punjab.
