PAU AGRI-ENGINEERING COLLEGE TO HOLD NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON LAND AND WATER MANAGEMENT

The Soil Conservation Society of India (Punjab Chapter), in collaboration with the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), is all set to organize the 33rd National Conference on “Land and Water Management for Ecological Restoration and Agricultural Sustainability” from December 8–10, in the Department of Soil and Water Engineering, PAU. The conference will bring together scientists, researchers, academicians, extension professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the country to discuss the innovative strategies, share research findings, and deliberate on sustainable approaches for managing land and water resources.

Dr Manmohanjit Singh, Organising Secretary of the conference, informed that about 300 participants from 15 states are expected to attend the conference.

Dr Rakesh Sharda, Co-Organising Secretary of the conference, informed that in addition to presentations of research findings, a panel discussion on ‘Rehabilitation of Flood Affected Soils’ will also be organised. The event will serve as an important platform for exchanging ideas on ecological restoration, climate-resilient agriculture, conservation technologies, and sustainable development practices, aimed at improving agricultural productivity and environmental health, he added.
