Brief Introduction

Dr. Rashmi Upreti is serving as a Scientist in the Department of Human Development & Family Studies, since September 21, 2020. She has made notable contributions to teaching, research, and extension. Her academic output includes 24 research papers, 7 review papers, 3 review articles, 1 book chapter, 1 undergraduate teaching manual, and training material for rural women and adolescents. She has delivered over 15 extension lectures in villages, schools, to Anganwadi workers, and in-service candidates, focusing on psychological and social issues like mental health, child development, emotional well-being, and gender sensitivity. She is actively assisting postgraduate students in their research work by providing academic support and guidance.

Dr.  Upreti earned her B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Human Development & Family Studies from GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, and completed her Ph.D. in Human Development from PAU, Ludhiana. She has qualified UGC-NET and was awarded a UGC-NET JRF fellowship during her doctoral studies.

  1. Associated with AICRP-WIA (AIl India Co-ordinated Research Project, Women in Agriculture, 2020-2021) as CO-PI for one year.
  2. Completed extension project under the scheme RKVY, sponsored by state Govt. of Punjab in the year 2021-22, 2022-23 & 2023-24 as CO-PI.
