Gender equity and empowerment

Department conducts various workshops, trainings for students as well as rural community for gender equity and empowerment. PG research is also conducted for gender mainstreaming, capacity building and entrepreneurship development. 

Monitoring and evaluation and impact analysis

Impact studies on various rural development programs and government schemes are conducted through different projects and PG research. Assessments are performed on lifestyle of farm families, their knowledge, perception and attitude towards environment, climate change, resource management etc. 

Diffusion and adoption of Home stead technology

Information on improved household technologies is disseminated through various interventions developed under PG research and departmental extension activities. 

Information and communication technology

ICT based interventions are developed through departmental research which are used during various extension activities conducted by department. The interventions are also shared with KVK scientists for further use.

Organization and human resource development

Department is conducting Orientation Course cum Induction Training Program for newly recruited faculty of PAU every year since 2013. Workshops are also conducted for Scientists at KVKs to update them with new technologies. Besides, workshops are organized for non-teaching staff for improved efficiency and effectiveness. PG researches are also conducted on this thrust area.
