The Department of Fruit Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), had organized a Certificate Distribution Function for the students of one-year Horticulture Supervisor Training Course (HSTC), batch 2024-25.
The chief guest, Dr Tarsem Singh Dhillon, Additional Director of Extension Education, emphasised the importance of horticulture in crop diversification and motivated the students for generation of self- employment opportunities. Dr Dhillon congratulated the students for the successful completion of this course and distributed the certificates among the pass-out students.
On this occasion, Dr HS Rattanpal, Head, Department of Fruit Science, and Dr Satpal Sharma, Head, Department of Vegetable Science, guided the students regarding the job opportunities in the field of horticulture.
During this programme, Dr JS Brar, Principle Fruit Scientist, highlighted the importance of this course and encouraged the students to start fruit nursery production as a profitable venture.
Dr Ruma Devi, Assistant Professor, briefed about the activities to be conducted by the students during this course.
Dr Monika Gupta, Incharge, HSTC, presented the progress report of the students and shared the success stories of certificate holders.
Later, Dr Simrat Singh proposed a vote of thanks. The students who obtained the highest marks were also honoured during this occasion.
