PAU HOLDS AI –RELATED SESSIONS FOR B.TECH AND MBA STUDENTS

An exclusive AI Advisory and Career Guidance Session was organized for the third year and final year B.Tech students in the School of Digital Innovations for Smart Agriculture at the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), under the guidance of Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean of the College. The session brought together renowned experts from India and abroad to help students understand how Artificial Intelligence was reshaping industries and creating global career opportunities.

Meanwhile, an exclusive knowledge session on “AI for Future-Ready Careers” was held for the students of School of Business Studies, PAU, under the guidance of Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, School of Business Studies, who highlighted how AI-driven tools were reshaping supply chains, enhancing decision-making, and creating new entrepreneurial avenues for youths.

The session began with Malwinder Singh Malhi, Agriculture Consultant and Global Farmer Network Member, who opened the discussion with deep insights on the transformative role of AI in Agriculture, covering predictive crop analytics, precision farming, automated monitoring, and smart agritech solutions. His talk helped students visualize new-age opportunities in agri-innovation, agribusiness, and tech-enabled farming—areas where engineering students could lead impactful innovations.

Following this, Mini Biswas, Award-Winning AI Specialist and STEM Ambassador from London, addressed the students with her expertise in AI in Cyber Security. As a Microsoft Copilot and Security Stack Technology Lead, she shared global cyber trends, AI-based threat detection methods, and the rapidly rising demand for cyber security professionals worldwide. Her session encouraged students to consider high-potential international career paths in security and AI-led systems.

Dr Harleen Kaur, Entomologist (Technical Expert), demonstrated device for alternate wet and drying technique for rice crop to save water in crop production.

The final session was delivered by Komal Chopra Lekhi, Founder of Aadvi Business Structures LLP. She shared practical and future-ready insights on AI in Marketing, explaining how AI was reshaping digital strategies, performance analytics, content creation, and brand building. She highlighted how engineering students could enter fast-growing AI-driven marketing roles, both in India and abroad, using their analytical and technical strengths.

All speakers collectively focused on career opportunities, global exposure, and the essential AI skills, required to thrive in the coming decade. Students actively participated, asked relevant questions, and gained clarity on how AI intersected with engineering, agriculture, marketing, and cyber security.
