TWO DISTINGUISHED SBS ALUMNI RECONNECT WITH THEIR ALMA-MATER AT PAU

The School of Business Studies (SBS), Punjab Agricultural University, witnessed a heart-warming reunion as two esteemed alumni – Mr Kuldeep Singh Grewal (1979-81 batch) and Mr SPS Basra (1977-79 batch) – visited their old campus and rekindled cherished memories of their university days. Hailing originally from Raikot and now settled in Canada, Mr Grewal retired as Manager from the Steel Authority of India (SAIL) after a distinguished career. Mr Basra, who retired as Additional Director General (Western Seaboard), also brought with him a wealth of accomplishments and experiences gathered over decades of professional service. Their visit added pride and joy to the SBS corridors, reminding everyone of the legacy and global footprint of PAU’s alumni.

Both guests share a unique bond with PAU;  they are proud alumni of the College of Agriculture as well as the School of Business Studies (SBS) under the College of Basic Sciences and Humanities (COBSH). Their journey – from the vibrant campus of PAU to the successful leadership roles in India and abroad stand as an inspiring example for current students. During their interaction with the SBS team, the atmosphere was filled with nostalgia. The two alumni fondly recounted stories from their hostel life, the camaraderie they shared, and the unforgettable canteen conversations that shaped many of their youthful days. Their reflections highlighted the strong community spirit and learning culture that PAU has always fostered.

Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, School of Business Studies, welcomed the distinguished visitors and apprised them of the upcoming Alumni Meet of COBSH, scheduled for December 3. He shared ongoing initiatives of SBS and how alumni support continues to strengthen the institution’s academic growth and outreach. Both Mr Grewal and Mr Basra warmly appreciated the efforts and assured their enthusiastic participation in the forthcoming alumni meet. They also expressed their commitment to promote the event, particularly for the alumni of the College of Basic Sciences (COBSH).

The visit not only celebrated the achievements of these accomplished alumni but also reinforced the enduring connection between past and present generations at SBS.
